HISTORY OF MARATHON 

Marathon was founded in 1978 by the late H Lee Gendler.  Marathon started as a commercial and industrial real estate development company in Omaha, Nebraska.  Marathon originally specialized in build-to-suit for single tenant occupancy.  Marathon extended its development from the corner service station to shopping centers and hundred plus acre business parks.  Although development has subsided since 1995, Marathon continues to own and or manage over four million square feet of commercial and industrial property including office, retail, sales & service, manufacturing and distribution facilities in Nebraska and Iowa.
